Dreams

These photographs are about dreams. Waking up with lots of fantastic images in my mind, which disappear nearly immediately, made me want to capture them.
I started to document and sketch my dreams every morning. These images were layered visions, which faded and changed their appearance.
I chose a conceptual approach to create and reproduce dreams by using a process, which reflects the essence of dreaming.
As dreams are not consciously controlled by the human brain, I reduced previsualisation and control to a minimum. By using double exposure in the camera, I had to let things happen, and lith developing again reproduced the process of dreaming.
These images visualise the ambiguity of dream and reality, nature and physicality. The juxtaposition of human figure, constructions and nature out of their original context forms a new dimension and reality. Some images are disturbing, and others are phantasmagorical like dreams.
